Kate O'Connor's haunting and timeless melodies soar and lilt over a magical weave of Irish, folk, pop and rhythm and blues. Kate adds poignant and insightful lyrics to create lush stories exploring passion, love, loss and joy. She leads her multi talented band with her lovely, fluid vocals, keyboards and guitar through singer songwriter territory and beyond.
The Kate O’Connor band features top New England musicians directed by Rico Spence who works his rhythm enchantment on bass, drums, percussion and guitar. Rico has been Kate's performing partner for fifteen years and has lent his talents to over 25 CD's and recordings by New England and New York artists, including Dar Williams, Brooks Williams, and Bernice Lewis. Max Cohen lends his mastery and passion on acoustic guitar and vocals. Adam Sweet swells your heart as his fingers step dance and waltz on the fiddle. Kate also performs solo dates accompanying herself on keyboard and guitar and as a duo with Rico adding bass, guitar and percussion.
The Kate O’Connor Band (Group) is a Massachusetts Touring Roster artist and is eligible for fee support from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and the New England Foundation for the Arts.
